YES, VERMONT! Bernie Sanders! Cows! James Kochalka (who your editor once had the pleasure of seeing in-person)! Twenty-first president Chester Alan Arthur! The mighty maple tree! Maple syrup! The staggeringly beautiful capital building at Montpelier! The painted turtle! Maple syrup! Pints of ice cream! And, most humbling of all, the endearing and noble hermit finch! Seriously, if I weren’t here in DC, and if Minnesota and Oregon suddenly vanished from a nuclear accident, I would love to call Vermont my home.
